what do you resort to when you’re through emotionally and mentally ?

this won’t be a sad post, i promise..but rather a true one.

while in the process of writing my second book, i am becoming more in tune and more aware of what my existence is saying opposed to what the world is..

i’ve noticed the following as it pertains to the black woman experience:

  • i am the start and finisher of all things.
  • i invented the word and the act of strong.
  • i embody life in the most abundant ways.
  • i am nothing other than deep in mind, body, & soul.
  • i have true meaning and it’s evident in the way i think & speak.
  • i am unlearning and learning the joy of what it means to be me.
  • i hold so much within me and owe myself the space to breathe. to be.

living your life without an ounce of guilt, critic, or scrutiny of all that is you that you cannot change, is where you should choose to be.

despite what the world says, what authority says, what the doctors say.. the one we answer to and always will, orchestrates it all in such an effortless way.

when we think there’s a mistake,

it’s actually falling in place.

when you feel less,

it’s preparing you for the “more” in store.

when you second guess,

your self-trust reassures that this is your best.

it’s all in our heads…

these negative and derogatory statements made against us.

it always has been.

this is not to say what was done to us wasn’t real but the poor assumption that the result of the tragedy consumes us and defines us is incorrect.

you’re so much more than that. this is a test of faith…make sure you pass.
